Back on 11th January the volunteers joined me in Claycart mini flash to start opening it up by clearing the scrub to encourage wetland species to flourish and give a view to the Basingstoke Canal. We were back on the 15th November to continue the work, wellies on hand as we ventured deeper. You can already see which plants are enjoying the lack of scrub in less than a year.
Thanks to all the volunteers (and the lovely weather). We’re making good progress and no one has fallen in yet!
