It was my pleasure to be back with the Blackwater Valley team this morning with my Thames Basin Heaths hat on. I’m working on a partnership project to build a summer stepping stones crossing at Hawley Meadows.
Andrew and I have now picked up the second consignment of stepping stones, kindly donated by the Harleyford quarry at Eversley. The stones are too large for the grading machines and of no value to the quarry, but we will make great use of them to build a crossing point on the River Blackwater, creating an improved circular walk at this lovely site.
If you’re walking at Hawley Meadows, you might notice the pile of stones. If all goes well, they’ll be in the river next week!
