Yesterday Rhys and I headed out to meet the volunteers at Blackwater Meadows, but found the access was a tad soggy so waded in to check the depth. We could have driven in through the floods but would have been marooned if the water level rose, so a quick change of plan was called for.
Instead we headed over to Hawley Meadows where we trimmed the surrounding hedge down to 2ft to make the site much more open and welcoming to visitors. The six volunteers from Kallo / Wessanen did a fantastic job getting stuck in and heckling each other, and it was great to reinvigorate the partnership we’ve developed over several years. Today I popped back with Ben and student Kristian, so I’m pleased to say it’s now all finished. Thank you to everyone for all your hard work.
