Yesterday we headed out to one of our new sites which form the Aldershot Urban Extension (AUE). These woodlands are being restored and improved for public access, funded by the housing development on part of the former Aldershot Garrison site. The task went really well clearing the half of the woodland strip which runs between the Basingstoke Canal and Queens Parade (very big field). The fog lifted to give a lovely warm day, as we removed 244 tree guards, 250m of old fencing and 30 sacks of rubbish. Thanks to the 16 volunteers grand efforts clearing the rubbish, the woodland looks much better.
