Yesterday the volunteers trundled down to Hawley Meadows, where we dug out invasive bramble and rose from the southern meadows. The volunteers did a great job clearing all of Surrey Field (by the M3) and some of Prior’s field. The bare ground we’ve created should provide great habitat for seeding of the rare great burnet plant.
Also we’ve been clearing more fallen trees blown over in the storms, with 26 cleared from the BV Path so far. There was a medium lime tree down in Aldershot Park (photo)
